Monee Elementary Student Drop-off and Pick-up

Dear Monee Elementary Parents and Guardians,

I hope everyone is well and staying safe.  The end of the 2019-2020 school year is fast approaching.  It is time for the distribution of belongings that your student had in his/her desk and/or wardrobe and for the return of Monee Elementary property such as library books and/or textbooks.

 

 Please understand that there are 411 students that will be processed.  The mandated closure of schools due to COVID-19 has created numerous unforeseen challenges.  In order to keep up with social distancing guidelines as mandated by Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order and IDPH guidelines, the District will be offering an End-of-Year Curbside Pick-up and Textbook Drop-off on May 26th, 27th, and 28th.  The following dates and time frames have been established to minimize long wait times.  Please make arrangements to come to the school during these times.  It is important that all students’ items be retrieved to allow the District to begin its deep cleaning of the buildings.  If the time doesn’t work for you, or you determine that you do not want your student’s items, and you do not have items to return to us, please call the school office at 708-367-2600 prior to May 26th.

Tuesday, May 26th Grades 4-5
        

Child’s last name begins with: 

A-M     9:00-11:30 

N-Z     11:30-2:00        

Wednesday, May 27th  Grades 2-3


Child’s last name begins with:

A-M     9:00-11:30

N-Z     11:30-2:00    

         

Thursday, May 28th  Grades K-1

Note:  If you have students in your family with different last names or different grades, you will be able to return and pick up items for all of your children at one (1) visit.  Please plan to attend the date and time frame for your oldest child in the school.


Chromebooks: Returning students will be allowed keep their Chromebooks until the Fall. Only students transferring out of the district are required to return their Chromebooks at the Curbside Pick-Up & Drop-Off.


All student items will be bagged and labeled with your child’s name by your child’s teacher and/or one of our staff members.  Following is the procedure we will use:

  • We are asking that parents enter the South parking lot as if you were dropping off your child for school or for an event.  Follow the route to end up in front of the school in the circle drop off.  Please do not exit your vehicles.
  •  Please be prepared with a sign for your window that indicates your child’s name, grade, and teacher.
  • We will retrieve items and return items via your trunk.  Please open your trunk when you pull up to the school.  A staff member will retrieve any books your student may have to return.  Please make sure these are in a bag marked with your child’s name.  Then, they will retrieve your student’s belongings and place them in your trunk.  Our staff will all be equipped with PPE (personal protective equipment).  After you receive your student’s items, please drive forward and exit the parking lot accordingly.
