We would like to welcome Ellie to Monee Elementary, our new therapy dog! She is excited to support our students, staff and district with a focus on the following goals:

Goal #1: Reduce anxiety levels and assist students to decompress after traumatic circumstances

Goal #2: Decrease the emotional trauma of a critical incident/event for students, teachers, and staff

Goal # 3: Increase student empathy/compassion

Goal #4: Decrease retaliatory violence

Goal #5; Improve self-esteem and helps students stay connected to social networks

Goal #6: provide opportunities to develop positive relationships

Activities: Playing with children, long walks, playing in the water, and walks on the beach.

Training: Ellie was donated to the Brevard County Sheriff and trained for six months by the Paws and Stripes College in Florida. 

Certification:  Ellie is a trained and certified therapy dog.

Experience: Ellie is new to Monee Elementary and Crete Monee School District. She is excited to be a part of the Crete Monee family!
