Student Mental Health Days

Student Mental Health Days
mental healthDear Parents/ Guardians,

We want to inform you that beginning January 1, 2022, students in Illinois will be given 5 excused absence days for mental health and wellness. In order to ensure that any of the 5 days do not count towards your child’s attendance it will be very important that the day of the absence, you call your child’s school and inform them that your child will be using a mental health day. If you do not inform the school of this, your child’s absence will be considered a normal absence and it will count towards their attendance. We ask that you please be sure to properly inform the school when mental health days are used the morning of the absence. Students using these days will be able to make up work, upon their return to school. If you should have any questions, please be sure to contact your child’s school for clarity.
