Greetings,
This is Dr. Amos K. Vaughn II your principal at Monee Elementary School. I truly hope all of our families and friends enjoyed the summer break! This year, I am humbled and grateful to continue my assignment along with Mrs. Chism, our assistant principal, and our wonderful Monee Family staff. I have great expectations as we embark on the new 2021-2022 school year. Additionally, I’m elated we will begin the year with in-person learning and students will have the opportunity to return to some form of normalcy. Students will be able to unlock and rediscover all of their potential, talents, abilities consequently living up to our new school theme “Rediscovering Me at Monee”.
For the 2021-2022 school year, students and staff will continue to build authentic relationships. As always, academics are important however, our endeavor is to focus on a holistic approach towards education and teach our students about self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. We also will continue to build a school culture where students and staff feel welcomed, valued, and empowered. This year, we will remain optimistic, positive, and resilient during these unprecedented times. I would like to encourage your full support for our school and our Monee PTO; remember, it takes a village to raise a child.
